MKE – Week 15 : “Compass or the Clock”
The New Year offers you 365 BLANK PAGES to write the most AMAZING chapter of your LIFE! Write with Passion and Conviction!!
It hit me this week what it really means to follow the compass, not the clock. How many of you set your alarms? How many of you go to work by a certain time? How many of you plan times to meet someone? Well, I’m guessing ALL of us!! This is a part of life that unfortunately we have to do to obtain things or set perimeters. But, what does it truly mean to follow the compass? I was sitting on the couch, cuddled in a warm blanket, relaxing one night and a thought came to my mind. I am so worried about the clock, the time, that I have passed over the my compass! (DMP – Definite Major Purpose) One of my PPN’s is True Health!! I have been watching what I have been eating and doing very well, but for someone reason, I got lazy. I was taking the short-cuts (fast food). You see, WE cannot accomplish our goals unless we PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE (5 P’s – Perfect, Practice, Prevents, Poor, Performance) and do OUR HOMEWORK!! Stay true to yourself! 🙂
Getting Better at Something Requires Commitment
We all want to get better at something. Maybe you’d like to be a more inspiring leader, be more productive, or take more risks. But ask yourself two questions. First, do you really want to do better? Presumably the answer is “YES,” but if you’re looking to improve because, say, your boss wants you to, be honest about that. Change will happen only if you’re COMMITTED to it. Second, are you willing to feel the discomfort of trying things that don’t work right away? Learning anything new is inherently uncomfortable, so be prepared to feel a little awkward. You will make mistakes. You may feel embarrassed or ashamed, especially if you are used to succeeding. But if you remain committed through all of that, YOU WILL GET BETTER. Adapted from “If You Want to Get Better at Something, Ask Yourself These Two Questions.” by Peter Bregman.
While reading OG, Scroll 3, page 72: I am nature’s greatest miracle. No beast, no plant, no wind, no rain, no rock, no lake had the same beginning as I, for I was conceived in LOVE and brought forth with a PURPOSE. In the past I have not considered this fact but it will henceforth shape and guide my life. How beautiful! WE are ALL unique and WE ALL have a purpose!! Follow your COMPASS!!
In Haanel, Chapter 15, chapter 145: How is the necessary material secured by which the growth, development and maturity of the idea take form? The Law of LOVE, which is he creative principle of the Universe, imparts vitality to the thought, and the law of attraction brings the necessary substance by the Law of Growth.
A lot of LOVE, GROWTH and PURPOSE going on here!! Keep on doing the work!! It will pay off!! Each day, whether we realize it or not, the cement continues to crumble away, piece by piece!!
For some reason, this song continues to pop in my head when I think about LOVE. So, in tribute to the ‘Captain,’ who passed away (Rest In PEACE) I leave you with this…………..
LOVE WILL KEEP US TOGETHER by Captain & Tennille
Love will keep us together
Think of me babe, whenever
Some sweet-talking girl comes along, singing her song
Don’t mess around, you’ve just got to be strong, just stop
‘Cause I really love you, stop
I’ll be thinking of you
Look in my heart and let love keep us together
I am WHOLE, PERFECT, STRONG, POWERFUL, LOVING, HARMONIOUS and HAPPY!
