MKE – Week 17 HJ: ‘Seven Laws of the Mind!’
‘Oh, What a Week!’
As I continue to do my weekly exercises, in a moment of reflection it dawned on me what has actually transpired in my life since this course started. (Law of Relaxation) My life at work has changed and it hit me this week. I was accepted by completing a questionnaire to participate in a 9-month Women’s Leadership Program called WiRL. I was 1 of 10 selected out of 200 woman that applied. WOW!! What an honor! We had our first call on Thursday. On this call, the 2 woman that are leading it explained what it was about and what an honor it was for us to have been chosen. They explained that we should be looking for an accountability partner (Mastermind – MKE) and that all the women in the group were there to support each other. (I instantly smiled! I am suppose to be here.) Even though, I have not put my professional career with FedEx on my DMP, it is a huge passion of mine. I know in my heart and mind where and what I want to accomplish. I have been putting in the steps to get to where I want to be professionally.
I want to take you back how I began with the company. I started back in 1998 as an independent contractor with RPS. (Roadway Package Systems) Along, the way, FedEx Express purchased the company and the name changed to FedEx Ground. I continued to own my company for 13.5 years successfully with over a 100% growth in revenue. I sold my business and my ultimate goal was to become an employee within FedEx. I knew that I could give so much back to the company I love and have so much passion for. I am a firm believer in not forgetting where you came from and giving back! In 2015, my desire became true. I applied for a job and got hired! I have moved from a coordinator, to a swing coordinator (Leadership role responsible for a team of 4). I help to develop, show, lead and inspire my team. I always take opportunities within the company that help me develop more skills and prepare myself for the next step. I have joined a Safety Action Team that goes to the stations within our District on monthly basis to engage with the stations in Safety Gaps. In doing this, I have met many new faces. (Putting my name out there) I guess with saying all this, I have realized that this course has made me realize how much I have inside of me to be SUCCESSFUL!! How I have the ‘KEYS’ to SUCCEED and BE ME!! The BEST ME, I CAN BE and how much I have actually accomplished but never really celebrated!! Celebrate the small accomplishments! Thank you MKE group!! (Law of Growth)
On Monday, I reflected on what Greg Simmons [gregsmasterkeyexperiences.wordpress.com] said on the Digital Solutions call. How he wrote in his blog about listening to to Mark J. talk and that he felt a sadness come over him and he felt he needed to put it out – share it. (Please take the time to read his blog. It’s awesome!) I sent him a polo to let him know how him sharing his experience, made me look at myself. I have an anger inside that I need to release. I believe it’s an anger of not finishing things in the past. Thank you Greg! (Law of Forgiveness)
I witnessed a friend saying, ‘Life is hard; it’s hard to cope sometimes.’ Instantly when I heard this, I felt bad for them. Because, they were letting life dictate how they should feel instead of taking control of the situation and controlling it. I knew in my mind that I control my own happiness! Life cannot dictate that. We make life what we want it to be. (Law of Dual Thought)
Flash cards, Flash cards, Flash cards! I love the Flash cards! Love the repetition of this exercise. It has put gratitude in the forefront of my life! (Law of Subconscious)
Everyday, I put my best foot forward to complete all the exercises required of me to be a part of this course. (Law of Practice)
I witnessed another friend be frustrated about a situation when they came home from work. They could not get into their parking spot because a police vehicle was blocking it. Instead of going down frustration street with my friend, I hesitated in my response and said, ‘Maybe you should look at it as a sign of Safety?’ ‘The police are there for a reason.’ I was proud of myself! I did not let the frustration of a thought control my response. (Law of Substitution)
I am proud of myself!! I have given myself permission to be Happy and to Forgive myself!! Take the time to reflect! See what you have accomplished!! You are a success!! Keep on prevailing!!
